You do counselling because you're passionate about it, right? But sometimes you're just not feeling it, and when you know you've still got to get ready for your next client, it's a problem.
Because you want to give your clients your absolute best and come from a place of genuine authenticity.
So when you have those days when you're not feeling it, what can you do?
Here's what I do to get into my passion zone:
Think back to why I choose to try to point people in the recovery direction.
Think about the one person or one family I want to serve.
Think about the people I've already helped and who thanked me for it!
Be grateful for the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life.
Get up and move around (brisk walk, jog, clean the dishes) and then come back to it.
Often all it takes is a slight change in perspective, mental or physical.
