You know what? It’s time to start bragging about your own success.
So, let’s start right now, shall we?
In my recovery, I went through some very difficult and challenging times. They were so difficult that I even contemplated whether or not to continue urging individuals to get into "Active" recovery. I questioned myself about whether or not it was worth the effort and hassle and almost started encouraging people to "NOT" get into recovery.
This was a hurdle and challenge I had to overcome myself, with God’s guidance. It is still an honest work in progress. Maybe recovery, a gift from the Creator, is meant to be like this to scare the weak and timid at heart away from doing "Real" work for the people.
Even though I’ve faced my deepest and darkest "recovery" moments on this journey on the "Red Road," I still believe it is definitely worth the struggles. My worst and darkest moments in recovery are still better than waking up with a hangover. I will take any struggles and challenges life has to offer over being broke, hungover, and feeling hopeless.
I think that’s something to shout about, don’t you?
